Materials - British Wool

Many NuuMed numnahs are made using British Wool - the orginal 'hi-tech- material. No other fabric, natural or man made, has as many qualities that benefit a horse. Key among these are:

• Wool's natural elasticity and ability to move as the horse moves and then reform to ensure it offers a continually high and consistent level of protection.
• If you take a handful of the wool NuuMed use, squeeze it and then open up your hand, the wool will spring back into shape - and that is exactly what happens with your numnah. The very smooth, silky wool found on many sheep's skins will just flatten and that is what it does on a horse's back
• Being natural, wool is far less likely to cause skin reactions and allergies
  It's breathable
• It's ability to absorb up to 30% of its own weight in moisture before feeling damp means wool keeps horses comfortable all year round and in hot temperatures. NuuMed double wool numnahs are successfully used in the Middle East for 160km endurance events.
• It's ability to level out changes in muscular temperature reduce the likelihood of muscle damage
  It is very easy to keep clean and can be machine washed every day
• We know that NuuMed wool has not been treated with any chemicals likely to react with a horse's skin.
